Since occlusion training requires equipment to occlude blood flow, KAATSU can’t be used for occlusion training because KAATSU equipment and protocols are designed not to occlude. You would have to seriously misuse the equipment to get KAATSU Air Bands to fully occlude and even then, it may not even be possible. A study done comparing occlusion-based training methods reported that the researchers could not get the KAATSU bands to occlude.
Much of this has to do with the purposeful design of the KAATSU Air Bands. These are unique to KAATSU and they are engineered to not occlude. This is because KAATSU is not considered a form of occlusion training. KAATSU is safe and effective and does not rely on occlusion of blood flow to create beneficial physiological effects. This is one of the reasons KAATSU is safe for virtually everyone to use.
I hope this answers the question of whether one can use KAATSU for occlusion training. If you would like more clarification, please read through the other FAQs about KAATSU, or leave a question in the comment box below.
